Maidaan Trailer: Let’s Recall the Memories of Chak De! India with the Game of Football With Ajay Devgn

Bollywood is known for sports dramas with a patriotic theme. There are so many movies that are famous in this category, like Chak De! India, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, and much more. However, it has been quite some time since I last watched a film of this emotional nature. Last year, in March 2023, we saw the Maidaan teaser, and it was good. but till then, there has been no update on it. Finally, after the full year, we have the Maidaan Trailer. As expected, it’s good. You might think that is why I am competing with Maidaan with Chak De! India. I tell you the last: There are so many similarities. Chak De! India is on hockey, and Maidaan is on football. Ajay Devgn is going to play the coach.

First, let’s talk about the Maidaan trailer, plot, and cast.

Before anything, I want to tell you one thing: this movie is based on a true story. Inspired by Syed Abdul Rahim (played by Ajay Devgn), the Indian national football team’s coach and manager, who is regarded as the initial leader of Indian football, he recorded the golden era from 1952 to 1962. This movie is about the struggle he faced to form the team, go to the nationals, and make India proud. I can’t imagine the struggle Seyed Abdul Rahim (played by Ajay Devgn) faced in 1952 when nothing was going right in India. This guy made the team, or what I called the strongest team.

The Maidaan trailer shows us so many glimpses of his struggle and dedication to football. In the trailer, we see there are so many things Syed Abdul Rahim (played by Ajay Devgn) needs to do. There are two things he needs to do: first, make the team; and second, stand out as a strong team and win the cup.

There are so many things I am looking forward to seeing in the Maidaan movie. Training, politics, dedication to football, and team building. In almost every sport, what you need is a “team.”. Let’s see at Eid (April) 2024.

Similarities Between Chak De! India and Maidaan

First, the Muslim Coach forms the team, dedicated to the game, and last, when I confess after seeing the Maidaan Trailer, is the glimpse of the last speech by Ajay Devgn. It just feels like the legendary speech by Shah Rukh Khan in Chak De! India. And yes, I don’t mean that they copy Chak De! India. No, there is not a thing. The thing is, when it comes to sports dramas with a patriotic theme, Chak De! India stands out above all. After a long time, I have hoped to Maidaan that this movie is going to touch that bar and become the fan favorite. Also, there is a scene in the Maidaan trailer when Syed Abdul Rahim (played by Ajay Devgn) says that if he loses, he will not coach a football team again.

That’s it. There are similarities between them, but they are different. Maidaan is going to stand out like a different movie. Also, just like Yodha, Maidaan is going to face so many challenges. This movie is originally going to be released on June 23, 2023. After so many delays, finally, we see Eid in April 2024.
