What If Season 2 Episode 4 Review: Iron Man Crashed Into the Grandmaster?

What If Season 2 Episode 4 Review: Iron Man Crashed Into the Grandmaster?

What If season 2, episode 4, Iron Man crashed into the Grandmaster? This episode was originally in season 1. For some reason, this episode is in season 2. This episode has better animation than the last three episodes. Whenever Tony Stark comes on screen, it feels magical. So many things are happening in this episode, and yes, if you think about how this story fits into season 1, remember Gamora from Guardians of the Multiverse?

Yes, that last episode when we see Gamora and Iron Man gathers and Watcher comes to invite Gamora and leave Iron Man behind. That’s the only story left in What If Season 1. Now in What If Season 2, Episode 4, we see that story. This episode might be more efficient in the season; I don’t know why they don’t include it in season 1.

What If Season 2 Episode 4: Iron Man Crashed Into the Grandmaster?

What If Season 2 Episode 4 starts with Guardians of the Multiverse, and Watcher tells us that Gamora’s story is still pending. After the introduction of what if, next, we see this in 2012 during the event of The Avengers, when Iron Man went into a hole with a nuclear missile and fell from that height, and Hulk caught him. But in this reality, Iron Man cannot come back before the hole closes.

Now, he just jumps out into space and crashes on Sakaar, yes, the planet we see in Thor: Ragnarok, at the same place Tony meets with Grandmaster. I need to add this if you remember when in Titan Tony and Thanos fight and he says to Tony that he knows him; it happens after the events of The Avengers in 2012, just like Thanos’s Grandmaster knows him too, the hero who defeated Thanos. Now, the Grandmaster invites Tony to join his birthday party, but Tony defends himself and wants to go back to earth. Now, he stops for Grandmaster’s birthday party and sees the deadly chariot race. In that race, one by one, we see our favorites: Valkyrie and Rockman Krog. Krog’s paper, the second time in What if. He is everywhere in Sakar and Xandar, too.

Meeting of Gamora and Tony Stark

Gamora

First in What If Season 2 Episode 1 and now in What If Season 2 Episode 4, he plays the key role of a team. So, the Krog vehicle gets destroyed by the champion. Tony comes to help him with his incomplete suite. But his suit won’t work, and Gamora kills that champion. Next, she tries to kill Tony Grandmaster, and with the chip, he captures both of them with Krog. In jail, Gamora tries to kill Tony, introduce her, and tell Tony Thanos that he’s behind the attack on New York.

Tony managed to escape and decided to free Sakar from the Grandmaster. To do this, he went to join Valkyrie and Krog with him already. Now, he challenges the Grandmaster to race. If he wins, Iron Man (Mr. Metal Mojo) will take over the planet Sakar. and if the Grandmaster wins, he tasks Tony’s suit.

Now, the race starts, and the Grandmaster tries to win at all costs. During that, Tony tries to convince Gamora to be independent and leave Thanos behind. Somehow Gamora helps Tony win the race, and yes, one more thing: there is the weapon on Sakar that melts everything. With that weapon woman on the grandmaster’s team, I don’t recall her trying to kill Tony or even win the race. Valkyrie destroys the vehicle with that connected weapon I told you about. That weapon touches the Grandmaster, and he dies.

Ending

In the end, Tony prepares to go to Earth, but Gamora comes and takes Tony to Thanos. The twist is that, with that weapon, Gamora kills Thanos. Consider, poor Thanos, that the Big Daddy of Marvel just died in this manner in Episode 4 of What If Season 2. If you remember What If… Episode 8: Ultron kills Thanos like nothing. I feel bad for Tanos.
